I love the Hemingway WordPress theme, so simple, so minimalist. But it looks to be rendering three different ways on three different browsers. Perfect on Safari 2.04, not so great on IE included with 2002 XP, and awful on IE that comes with Vista Home Premium. I have three systems in the house and just noticed. I started this weblog on Safari. Of course, about 10% of operating systems are Apple, so there goes that plan. Switching to more stable template until further notice.

Step outside, skies turn dark. Thankfully no rain. Knee warmers this time. No idea of mileage. Rode Specialized Roubaix sans computer. Casual pi-an-o tempo. Need to make a decision soon about Climb to Kaiser. Base miles on weekends need must go up to be ready for June (no firm date set yet). Just over 150 the weekend before last, but I’m nowhere close to decent riding form. Two pictures with BlackBerry.

Sunset looking southwest toward Golden Triangle.

A nice 55 degrees out. Some extra work tonight to make deadlines. Time for windy ride before twilight and total lunar eclipse expected about 7 p.m., local time. Rained hard most of this morning. Streets are now dry. A check of the Tour of California shows Mario Cipollini of Rock Racing may not finish the third stage under the time cut, but his teammate Victor Hugo Pena made the top ten. Couple big climbs in the race today with a finish in San Jose.

Quick coffee break and post on birds. San Juan Capistrano has annual return of a little one called the Swallow. Likes mud. Small and cute. Not overwhelming as it nests each spring at the mission. The return is mostly legend. Scotland, on the other hand, has Starlings that can blacken the sky near Gretna Green. In a flock, they form shapes you’d think only Pixar could create. I saw b-roll this a.m. on NBC’s Today show. It has to be making the rounds on other news programs. No words required to describe.

Here’s a link to a Scotish photographer who has a few close-ups of Starlings in his home country. Oh, and his landscapes are beautiful.
